Summerland is a small lakeside town between Penticton and Peachland with a surprisingly full community calendar. The Summerland Community Centre hosts concerts and craft fairs; the Summerland Museum and Archives is home to the Rotary Sunday Market, the Summerland Mega Market, the Summerland Fall Fair, and regular talks and field trips; and local spots such as Summerland Heritage Cider and Detonate Brewing Company add tastings and live music.
The Rotary Sunday Market on Main Street runs through the summer and is the town's weekly highlight, with seasonal fairs and craft markets in the fall and holiday season. See Summerland events this weekend.
Blues, country tribute nights, big-band jazz and the Summerland Strummers' caroling concerts are regular fixtures, mostly at the community centre. See Okanagan concerts for the wider region.
The museum runs geology field trips, community conversations and heritage programs, and the library hosts free sessions throughout the year.
Summer is Sunday-market season and the busiest time on the lake. Fall brings the Fall Fair and winery harvest events (see Summerland wineries). Winter is holiday concerts and Christmas craft fairs. Spring opens the wineries and the first outdoor markets.
